While I haven't played DA:VG yet, I can say that DA:I had the best portrayal of a trans-gender character I've seen with Krem. The game wasn't preachy or in-your-face about the subject, it was simply handed to the player as 'matter of fact' and just got on with things.

The system that me a life-long gamer wasn't a console, it was a BBC Micro Computer, my father got one to learn CAD (computer aided design) in the early 80's and we innevitably got games to play on it.
I eventually got a Sega Master System 2 as my first console.

Exile on the BBC Micro, not well known outside the UK. The noises the creatures made along with the lack of music was genuinely creepy for 7 YO me.

No game ever made me want to quite games completed, but the alien at the end of Conker's Bad fur Day almost made me rage-quit that game. That fight was so frustrating that when I finally beat it I didn't laugh at any of the gags in the ending due to how fuming I was. Never playing it again.

First anime I ever watched was Voltron in the early-mid 80's, though I never knew about its Japanese origin until many years later. Admittedly, I've never seen the Japanese original.
