I'm not going to pretend PTFC are suddenly a Top 10 team or WC favorite.
But my sphincter also now tells me they've started to resolve some of the Charmin soft defending from recent seasons. Surman's performances/presence has seemingly raised the floor to where I'm not white-knuckling all 90 mins.

Something to be said for getting a little younger but also more athletic this offseason. They may be taking bets on JDM becoming a true 2-way player, Surman emerging into a starting-level guy, Moreno/Antony taking next steps, Ayala becoming a monster, etc. But I'm willing to watch it play out.
