My local shop here in the us (New England) does 5$ for all day if you’re a student or service worker, twice that for general folk. Seems fair to me

I feel like a lot of people aren’t even giving a casual check to these numbers, this is what, 700$ a year? 950 billion, 3%, 40 million Canadians? The reason this would be cheaper is because it’s way less money towards fighting poverty.

I made it that far, scanned for a reference to Truman or integration, and discarded it as either doltish or bad faith. Disappointing for the NYT. I was open to secretly having something sensible in the secretary’s speech which got drowned out with all the fat stuff! No sign of it here.
