Plus, if something too difficult for AI to figure out gets in the way, there would still be artists at Larian who can work on those. Idk, maybe I'm just being too optimistic, but until Larian crosses the previously mentioned boundary, I think the AI usage should be safe.

However, I would indeed have issue with them taking the AI usage further. As long as they keep it to this incredibly basic and time-saving step, I don't think artists will really be harmed. Actually making concept art through genAI is a whole different story.

I mean, from what I understand from the article, they're skipping out on having to google reference photos with the AI tools, then making the actual concept art with that very rudimentary base. It'd be saving time on having to look at very specific angles for some object or whatever.
