Honestly though. They will toss you the keys to a barely-functioning mobile steel box with about 50 dents from prior fender benders and the managers always seem to be like “eh, don’t worry about it, just make sure to get the gas to sort of where it was” and then charge you the flat fee.

This system is a horrific disease that’s been working flawlessly for over 500 years. It’s beyond due to be destroyed and the land given back to the people it was stolen from. Communities will find ways to take care of themselves. Not believing in that means you think all humans can’t be trusted.
