One day, I will meet the engineer that located the RX-7 fuel filter and chose the bolt location and fasteners, and I will dump some petrol on them while covering their arms in rust and scratches while they solve a Rubik's cube blind in a locked room full of bees.

That's... 20 of mine.
Eesh.

I'll leave this here as well...

But they are... obsolete, failing.

We all dwell within the Grave of the Fireflies.

Cheer up, have a sweet.

All the time I've been background-sulking that every time a Spectrum Next kickstarter happens 5% reach Speccy enthusiasts and 95% show up on eBay at 100% markup because all the slots were taken by flippers...

I was unaware of open-source Nexts like the #XberryPi - and it is very cool. Looks funny.

And then to perfect the whole "easy to play and mess with" workflow...

The USB interface on the Behringer isn't being used for the computer - I've got aux sends setup to send channels/mixes to the Apollo rack - so I connected it to the MPC. Bingo! Instant mix to loop/clip captures.
November 10, 2025 at 11:56 PM
Which means I can mix two drum machines and two insert effects chains (the Behringer has four effects slots for DSP effects like a cut-price Apollo or A&H Qu - without DLC price gouging) and sculpt frequencies and panning to make exactly the loop I want...
November 10, 2025 at 11:49 PM
One of the things making me happy is the Behringer XR mixer's channel strips. They are in the mixer - not the computer - so I can play the synths without needing to have an app running all the tine, unlike many multichannel interfaces. But it also makes fancy mixer stuff easy to see and understand.

Well, the new setup works. I, however, am still incapable of "happy making music" and then wanting to share said music and getting the phone to record playing something and "still being able to play what sounded good before".

I mean it sounded like poundshop Enigma but I was enjoying it.

Here's what Spitting Image had to say about the Andrew formerly known as Prince back in the '80s.

Is the Royal Family /really/ that surprised that he's been a tad damaging to their otherwise glorious reputation?

Nothing looks like these... maybe FE Victor/VX estates if you squint...

Roland's family moved from Germany in 1947 under suspicious circumstances. The Dierattes changed their name to Sherat to try and fit in, but it attracted too much attention, so they shortened it to Rat, not realising they had effectively lost the middle name.

I don't make a habit of using ChatGPT for anything other than playing with what LLMs are up to - but damn, whichever original artist deserves credit for the source, this generic octogenarian narcissist on a 1930s german poster wasn't bad for a sketchy prompt.

Both of them have had to be busy today, Audi fetching large plywood boards, SLK just doing normal drives.

13 years since I first sat in an SLK, and I wonder why 6 of those years I ever bothered with owning any other automatic convertibles. Every time I have one, I just feel comfortable and relaxed.

I'm not saying infancy makes all your preferences for you, but... I have owned convertibles almost constantly since passing my test, and I'm always happiest when my car has no roof...
