It's a full moon out. the forest is barren and thorns litter the ground under the moonlight. there's a thick fog that overtakes everything making it harder to see. Beware of the Hat.

A top hat sits in a dark room, not a sound could be heard not even a rustle. It’s suffocating and deafening. Despite the darkness, the hat stands out, it’s all consuming void devouring any possible light that touches its surface. It’s as if you would be sucked in too if you touched it. Slowly, almost not noticeable if not for its brightness, a green light creeps out from beneath the brim of the hat. Like the light behind a door creaking open the light illuminated the dark. Suddenly the hat shifts and lifts itself. A horrible clawed hand encased in tight leather reveals itself like a hermit crab emerging from its shell. Then, another hand slowly comes out its claws scraping against the floor. Grotesque appendages follow after and from the ceiling more come, wiggling and twisting, eager to heed its master’s command. Evil is here and soon it will swallow the light, till all are left in its ravenous grip.

Black Hat turns to the viewer slyly "Heinous crimes?” Black turns to fully face the viewer leaning forward as he slowly stalks closer like a predator closing in on its prey. “Darling, I've lost count of how many I've committed over the centuries." "But none of those crimes even come close to being as heinous as the things I'd do to you, if you'd just let me..." Black Hat’s tongue slithers out as green drool drips from his razor sharp teeth. His sharp claws barely contained in his leather gloves inching closer eager to sink into the viewer.

This piece is looks like it's full of a bunch of characters but it is in fact one. This work is an expression study on Black Hat along with some fun shading and lighting. In the upper left corner he's grinning menacingly with drool dripping from his maw, in the upper right he has his resting bitch face looking as unamused as ever, in the bottom left he has taken on a more terrifying look as extra sets of teeth show in his mouth and his eyes are black with red line within them, and in the bottom right he looks like he's on the verge of slapping anyone and everyone regardless if they did a thing.
