im really enjoying this book. the pacing is fast but works very well for this story, it reads almost like a collection of fairy tales. Simran and Vina have absolutely insane chemistry. I love how unapologetically lesbian this is!

also I don’t understand the ‘insta lovey’ criticisms at all? the two leads are def into each other but it’s clearly just attraction .. and the whole fated to kill each other understandably makes them wary. Also I love that we have a butch love interest!!!!! take notes F/F writers

loving it very very much so far. Actually I think the smaller scale (isolated to ‘the isle’) works to the author’s advantage bc I feel like the weakest points in burning kingdoms was passage of time/distance. and I love the fantasy elements / world building so far!

The prose!!!! I must have a million highlights in my kindle. I’m crying. Fuck. FUCK. Every single letter was so beautiful and devastating. Letter writing is underused in modern fiction!!! We still have email MORE LETTERS MORE LETTERS!! I don’t know how I’m going to sleep after finishing this book.

Ooooooh I finished it!!!! Sensual AF I saw a little bit of the twist coming but definitely not the whole thing ! oh I can’t wait to reread this one. one of my faves from this years reads so exceptional. adored the writing style as well.

is it even a lesbian book if there is no seductive eating of a juicy fruit (the pears)?
