Hmmm. My head hurts thinking about this. But we know that every increase in LoS further downstream has a subsequent increase in LoS in ED so presumably.

That final graph is mind blowing! Complexity of acute admissions went up ‘after-COVID’ combined with flow problems meant that more patients seemed to get ‘stuck’ on AMUs. AMUs aren’t designed for this - lack of continuity and ‘slower stream’ care eg MDT rehab
