And yet New Yorkers have elected Schumer 5X to the Senate. And his Senate colleagues unanimously elected him to be Senate Majority Leader and twice elected him -- again, unanimously -- as Senate minority leader. It appears that some would disagree with your understanding of Schumer's reputation.

Maybe it's time for new blood, but it's not time to draw blood, especially from those who are on our side. All this bloodletting against Schumer is a major distraction from our real goal: to defeat Trump and MAGA and restore our country to sanity and decency. Schumer is not the enemy.

I agree with the great Lawrence O'Donnell. And I respectfully disagree with the great Ezra Levin. We should not be wasting our frustration, time and expertise on turning on someone who is doing an admirable job at a watershed moment in our history. Time to refocus our energies on the real enemies.

Wouldn't it be nice -- not to mention much more productive -- to channel our anger and resolve to defeating Trump and MAGA instead of turning on those, like Senator Schumer, who have the same goals as the rest of us. No one else in the Senate was able to change the minds of the 8 Senators. No one.

I admire Senator Murphy a lot. And as he was successful in changing the votes of the 8 Senators...oh, wait, he wasn't. So as great a statesman as Murphy is, I doubt he could have done, or could do, a better job than statesman Schumer.

Well, Senator Schumer is my Senator. And I shall tell him to stand his ground. He has been a statesman since the 1970s and he remains one today. No one else in the Senate succeeded in dissuading the 8 Senators to change their votes. And no one else at this time will do a better job than Chuck.

I respectfully disagree with calling for Schumer's resignation. Who else succeeded in dissuading the eight Senators to vote no? Answer: 0. Hence, who could do a better job than Senator Schumer? Answer: 0. It's a colossal waste of resources to punish Schumer just because we disagree with him.

Hapless shrugged.

Schumer did the right thing. A shutdown would have given the President carte blanche. Instead of disarming Trump, we would have handed him more guns and fresh ammunition to use against us.
