If you like truth, liberty, and democracy, and don't like lies or would-be kings, the MAGAnuts think you must hate America.

Even some conservatives thought Kirk was a racist, sexist scumbag. But the GOP sanctifies him for political gain.

GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN
My black elder saplings have flowers and some green fruit, but the red elders growing in the wetland near here have lots of ripe berries. Today I picked 10 pounds (4.5 kg) to turn into elderberry syrup.

WHAT'S YOUR SIGN?
I carried this one at yesterday's rally in Coos Bay, where hundreds showed up with theirs.
One guy in a big pickup saw mine and called out "Traitor!" as he passed me. I just laughed. I'm not the one violating my oath to defend the Constitution.

GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN
I've rearranged the fire pit to accommodate more seating. Backyard barbecues start soon.

Silence is complicity.

This might look like parody, but the Sociopath-in-Chief posted this photo himself. Compensating for his inferiority complex by becoming President for Life and Pope won't be enough to replace the love he never got from Daddy. Maybe being God King would do it???

APRICOT ROSE IN GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN
Most of the roses have flower buds now. The apricot rose was the first to open fully.

HUCKLEBERRY BED IN GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN
I added organic acid-mix fertilizer, transplanting the black mountain huckleberries to the new bed. Garlic & chives around the perimeter, and basil & marigolds around the berries, will repel pests. Carrots seeded between bushes are edible companions too.

GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN
I had to catch the green goddess and white bluebells in the morning light.

Hundreds turned out for yesterday's protest in Coos Bay. I wasn't paid, and I don't think any of them were, either.

3 SISTERS IN GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN
Today we planted double rows of corn (maize) in the new 3 sisters bed, shaped like a medicine wheel. Once the corn shoots up, beans will go in to climb and fertilize the stalks. Then squashes will fill in the quadrants and mulch the mound.
First tulip, too!

ASPARAGUS IN GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN
The tallest spear is now 2 feet above the mulch. We'll let that one and the tallest over the other root crowns grow, to branch out and photosynthesize, feeding more root growth.
This 3rd year, we'll harvest a few shorter spears soon. Many more next year!

HAPPY EQUINOX FROM GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN!
Spring has sprung, and so has the purple asparagus. The first spear refuses to stay under the mulch.

GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN
I have a patch of white bluebells that have spread to fill a corner of my garden. The first one is blooming today.

DRAINAGE & GARLIC IN GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN
This strip was flooding in heavy rains so we dug a drainage trench, half-filled with gravel under weed barrier, filled with topsoil, and then planted 52 more cloves of purple garlic for a late crop. The other 200 or so should be ready by summer.

SPRING IN GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN
It's 60F in Coos Bay today, with only rain forecast for the next week or so. We're probably past our last frost, and the plants think spring is here.
The first asparagus, purple potato, and rhubarb shoots are up. I just planted fava beans in the potato bed.

NATIVE BERRIES IN GRANNY BEA'S GARDEN
A wild blackberry start from a friend two years ago has grown prolifically. With the new back fence up, I screwed a few dozen cup hooks into it to esplanade the berry vines. They'll get for sun and air, and produce more berries this summer.
