My mother would have disagreed. She would soldier on to the end afraid she might miss something. An exception happened when l gave her “The Help.” She asked me to take it back. It triggered some painful memory of the mistreatment of her black friend decades ago.

You have other options l’m sure for photo contests. Ex: Carolina Nature Photography has annual contests. We get magazines about birding. They welcome photos. You are really talented!
