In Nazi Germany, a chief role of culture was to disseminate the Nazi world view. i saw one (1) video earlier about the spongebob movie and decided to write a scene for my lesbians about it
It might be the edibles having hit her system only minutes ago, or maybe it's just the gritty, greasy layer of popcorn butter she forgot was on her fingers when she reached for the remote-regardless, the damn thing goes flying behind the couch. Groaning, Ed hikes up her nightie-which is still a genius move on her part, suggesting they both wear 'grandma pajamas' while they watch movies—and tilts her body over the back of the couch to reach for something she probably can't even hold onto right now. Ed starts giggling softly, then harder as the shaking shimmies her body further into the crevice between the couch and the wall. "Ed! Do you need some h-help?" Stede's face pops into Ed's line of vision as she stutters through the beginnings of a laughing fit, all red in the face and nose scrunched tight. All Ed can do is nod, the laughing has taken over all of her functions and faculties. She forces herself to breathe as Stede tugs Ed back down by the hips. Over the nightie, of course, like a lady. What would it take, Ed wonders, for her to stop being so polite? "Did you see my underwear?" The giggles are finally calming down, thankfully. "No, Ed." Without missing a beat, Ed grins and says, "Did you want to?" For a moment, Stede stares at her blankly, wheels obviously turning somewhere in her head but clogging before they could form actual words. Her mouth opens and closes a couple of times before she settles on, "Was... was that a Spongebob reference?" Yeah. Ed's gone for this woman. Technically, it had been—but it had also been a genuine question, so either way Ed would walk away satisfied. They both fall over laughing, loud guffaws interspersed with painful, gasping silence-until Stede finally yelps as a cramp forms in her side and Ed starts taking breathing deeply more seriously, for both of their sakes. "I think what surprises me the most is that you've actually seen the SpongeBob SquarePants Movie." Stede scoffs. "Seen it? Ed, please. Give credit where credit is due. That movie is a masterpiece. I've seen it multiple times, on purpose." "Masterpiece feels like a stretch, babe." The endearment was a bit of an accident brought on by sheer adoration and the lowered inhibitions of being high, but Ed couldn't bring herself to regret it as Stede's face turns a deep red and she smiles so prettily. "It's a SpongeBob-themed retelling of The Odyssey." "You're shitting me." "I wouldn't dream of—" "—The Odyssey?" "—The Odyssey?" "Give me the remote, I'll venmo you later but we have to find a way to watch this movie right this second." An hour and twenty-four minutes later (it took Stede two minutes to find it and rent it), Ed is wheeze-laughing into Stede's lap as the credits roll. "I can't believe how right you were. The Cyclops.The Hero's Journey. I've seen this movie before, obviously, but I didn't really catch the correlation." Stede's hand is agonizingly close to digging into Ed's hair, she can feel it. Ed's wanted for nothing like she wants this. "I almost wrote about it for my senior thesis in undergrad." "Oh my god, I love that," Ed laughs, rolling her head to meet Stede's eye. "Speaking of things I love, you can put your hand in my hair if you want. If that'd be comfortable, I me—" The words cut off abruptly as Stede plunges her hand into Ed's hair, exactly how Ed's been imagining. She barely avoids audibly moaning; a hefty exhale manages to escape. "Is this okay?" "Mmmyep, definitely, just a little ticklish but it's a good ticklish." That's half true. It's also just good in a way that feels right on the cusp of too good to be appropriate. Stede avoids direct pressure from her nails and the sensation tips back into pure relaxation. Her fingers undulate, like a jellyfish, and Ed feels her own bones turn to goo. Stede's fingers are delicate, deliberate in how they touch, rub, and occasionally scratch. She's trying to make Ed feel as good as possible, and she's succeeding. "What's your favorite line from the movie?" Ed mutters, knowing Stede has an answer ready. "No, Patrick, they're laughing next to us." "Fuck, that's a good one. Mine's probably, I'm 100% man, and this man has got something to say to you... "" They both take in a breath and blow out a raspberry on the exhale, dissolving it quickly in more laughter. Ed doesn't think she's ever laughed this much, not in her life. What a beautiful thing it is to have now.

HAPPY WIP WEDNESDAY i’m about 6k into a gentlebeard lesbian fic that continues to take over my brain
"Any plans for the day?" Stede asks as Ed figures out the word of the day in three guesses. "Mmm, not really. Might go for a walk, see what else is out there to do for fun." Ed takes another bite of cereal and chews thoughtfully. "You don't want to just look it up? Like on your phone?" "Nah, it's more fun to go out looking for it. Not every business or park or event knows how to market itself, but that doesn't make it less worthwhile to experience, you know?" Stede nods eagerly. "I've really never thought about it like that, but that's wonderful!" Ed smiles, bashful all of a sudden. "Aw, thanks. I just want to... I don't know. You ever see people comment on videos of people doing weird shit and they're like, 'excellent use of free will'?" "I... don't really read comments much, to be honest." "First of all, you should start. People are so fucking funny. But anyway, yeah, it's like this thing where we forget as adults that we're not technically confined to do everything like everyone else. It's like, sometimes I want to go outside and do cartwheels in the park, my 40-year-old knees be damned." Stede smiles wryly. "Or become the birdfeeder for the sunrise birds." "Exactly!" Ed's grinning, both arms on the table, cereal forgotten in her excitement. "I want to live. Not just go through the motions. Embarrassment or shame be damned, as long as I'm not hurting anything." It's the exact opposite of what Stede's been told to do all her life. The opposite of being told you need to fall in line, don't draw attention to yourself, don't do anything unexpected. Stede fucking loves it. Before she can talk herself out of it, she blurts, "Can I join you?" Ed blinks, surprised, and Stede presses on, "I've never, ever done something for the hell of it. It's not how I was raised, and I'm starting to think I'm really missing out." The grin on Ed's gorgeous face widens. "Yeah? You want to—with me?" Stede scoffs. "Well, of course with you!" She feels her face heat up, hoping she isn't giving too much away. "I like you, Ed. l'd—well, l'd love it if we could continue to be friends. After this morning, I mean."
