If you’re still here, let me point out why the metallica analogy is incorrect as well. It’s true. Metallica will still sell, but if they decided to put out a folk or country album that’s definitely a risk regardless of their established brand.

If you’re still here, let me point out why the metallica analogy is incorrect as well. It’s true. Metallica will still sell, but if they decided to put out a folk or country album that’s definitely a risk regardless of their established brand.

If I understand your twisted agreement correctly, Disney would have to spin up a new studio and new IP, secretly (so no one knows it’s Disney 🤣) to prove they have taken any risk in your mind? Have I got that right?

The conversation is about established brands. 🤣 And, as you see some of the MCU and SW media did not sell no matter what.
Disney has taken risks in their animated studio. We’ve had new material regularly. If your issue is big corps suck I agree but saying Disney is completely risk averse is silly.

I used to use Picassa as well. I use Synology photos now. It’s a software that comes along with the NAS I purchased.

I also set up a service like Google photos to back up all the photos of the folks in my house. It has an app and facial recognition to categorize pictures just like Google photo. Google is looking to charge us more for backing up our own stuff.

About a 1 1/2 years ago I set up a NAS (actually a few) and started the process of digitizing all my movies and shows from blu-ray/DVD, along with other stuff. I set up a streaming server so that I have access to all my stuff, in case the the licensing changed on streamers or blu-ray players died…

You said you still won’t give up so that’s really the main point. Sorry, I got off topic but I was trying to make a side point that some of the problem, in my opinion, is the fact that some Americans are ignorant, lazy, and entitled. No amount of institutional change can overcome that in my mind.

Very precarious. I still see this as a problem the people solve. Democrats, as terrible as they are, are the only political vehicle we have right now. Let’s not make better than terrible the enemy of all we got 😂. Trust, I’m sure MLK wanted a better party and partner than Democrats and Johnson.

The unfortunate truth is that change is never instantaneous and takes a very long time. Our current Internet, microwave culture makes us forget the historical battles that took decades to change power. “If there is no struggle, there is no progress.” People always forget the struggle part.

On the contrary, as a black man, I’m definitely asking that of institutions. Like I said the system is broken, but Black people have always voted for harm reduction. Many Americans don’t care at all or don’t see that as a useful strategy, for many reasons that I don’t find acceptable.
