they controlled all of government when the ACA was passed, which was largely a handout to the insurance industry

dems continued and still benefit from the misery and also share the blame

but he did kill people and that’s how he made his living

just because it was legal, does not make his actions “just”. lots of legal actions have been abhorrent, from slavery to the holocaust

unfortunately there don’t appear to be any options for americans to vote for better policy here

right, and my point is that “it’s the system” is a poor cover to provide people who use that system to enrich themselves while harming others

Almost every article about this trip in the major press talked about the "tense" relationship since 1975 because of the Cold War—without really mentioning apartheid. It was odd. (Not picking on this particular article, they're all like this)

the business of UHC is in determining the best way to prevent people from receiving healthcare in order to make money, as well as lobbying against actual healthcare to protect their model

if i made my business killing people for money, i would expect that someone would eventually come for me

the right way to stand your ground, of course, is to simply refuse covering someone’s treatment because they will probably just die before their lawsuit gets too far

polls like these aren’t worth much for many reasons, including:

only a small subset of people with time/interest actually respond to polls

people are untrustworthy- they want to give socially acceptable answers like “i am voting” or “no trump”, then do something else

maybe time to throw these out
