It was interesting to see Oshii figuring out stuff he’d do later in GITS an Patlabor 2, and SO MUCH in GITS2.
This also reminded me of an old Star Trek vs Star Wars fanfic I read back in the late 90s where Trekkies had no connection to the Force due to transporter usage.
