Scuba, boating, travel. Life is good. My hope is we can grow the middle class again and make life good for the majority. Obviously, having so much wealth in a few hands will never reach that goal.
#marinelifr A nurse shark cruising off Honduras. This was taken on a wonderful dive to a sea mount between the island of Roatan and the main land. In 2022 it was very vibrant and lively because it did not see a lot of diving. I was told in 2024 that it had lost most of its coral to SCTLD.

#marinelife I like capturing the many forms of sponge.

#marinelife A porcupine fish swimming over healthy coral in 2016. Like the puffer fish they can inflate into a large ball for protection. Divers shouldn't cause them to inflate, it can leave them vulnerable.

#marinelife A Nudibranch near Lands End Los Cabos Mexico. It was on a small shelf of coral, causing me to have to twist at odd angles to get a shot. Not my best picture but it is so interesting I couldn't resist.

#marinelife The Hawaiian Green Lionfish. Unique to the Hawaiian Islands.

#marinelife Let's try again. In 2023 Repopulation of coral like the staghorn were well under way. Today Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease is tearing through my favorite dive island.

#marinelife Always look behind you on night dives. You never know who is trying to hunt in your trail.

#marinelife School M aster Snapper hanging out in Bonaire.

#marinelife A brittle star, most often seen on night dives. Really cool to see swimming.

#marinelife Roatan has an excellent shark dive. Done responsibly by a knowledgeable guide.

#marinelife Tarpon off the salt pier on Bonaire. These guys get big. They can also get mad, as I found out. I dropped over a wall and startled one. It started snapping its jaw and arching it's back to warn me off after I almost dropped down on it. 😀.

#marinelife It isn't often that you find a seahorse this exposed. The single coral was on the edge of the roof of a wreck, making it easy to get level with the fish.

#marinelife A video of a sharp tail eel I spotted on open sand.

#marinelife Something a little different. We were driving around Bonaire watching the Flamingo when this little guy attacked his competition in the mirror. He also did it to the vehicle behind us, so it seems he knows they hide in the truck mirrors. 😉

#marinelife A spiny lobster in its hole. The warm water spine lobster is delicious and pretty abundant. Florida has a huge 2 day rally every year where thousands are harvested by recreational divers. An event i want to do someday.

#marinelife A file fish in cozumel harbor. They often swim in mated pairs and show a lot of loyalty.

#Marinelife I saw a spotted round ray during a dive on Cozumel. The location was in the harbor where all the cruise ships and ferries dock. Sea life is pretty adaptable.

#marinelife A spotted eel peeking out of the coral.

#marinelife A yellow frog fish straight on. Orange, yellow, black, and green so far. I'm hoping to see a few more before all the coral is gone.

#marinelife Garden Eels, about as thin as a pencil and 2 feet long. They burrow into the sand, lift their head a few inches, and face into the current to feed. Fun to encounter and a favorite food of Eagle Rays.

#marinelife A live sand dollar on a sand flat in Bonaire. Not the stiff, white, bleached skeleton we are used to seeing.

#marinelife It is amazing all the forms and ways animals have evolved to survive. This black and white crinoid is a soft coral in the Caribbean.

#marinelife The largest barracuda i have encountered. It was at least 5 feet long. We gave it plenty of space.

#marinelife A horse by any other color is still a horse, unless it has gills.
