The West Coast Prison Justice Society operates a legal clinic in BC and promotes the rule of law within prisons and the fair and humane treatment of prisoners.
Canada's Correctional Investigator released it's 2024-2025 annual report today and found it was "abundantly clear that CSC is fundamentally ill-equipped to provide long-term mental health care to individuals with serious mental illness".

Aug 10, 2025 marks 50 years since the first Prisoners’ Justice Day was observed in 1975, when people incarcerated at Millhaven Inst. organized a work and hunger strike to memorialize the death of Eddie Nalon. PLS mourns all those who have lost their lives to the prison system.
