Just soldered 4 5m long LED strips together. Not a fun time.
On a bamboo desk lies a black silicone mat for 2/3 of the image from the left. Right 1/3 image shows a cardboard box with a bunch of white LED strip in it. The LED strip comes out of the box and into a black plastic spool on one end. The spool is right next to the cardboard box, on it left. Some of the led strip comes out of the spool and is lying flat on the previously mentioned black silicon mat. The LED strip extends past the image through the left. Also on the silicon mat is a golden steel wool ball on its top right with a soldering iron resting on it, connected to a white usb c cable

Sourdough bake day. Trying to improve my scoring skills. This is one of my better attempts.

Upgrading this project with a atmospheric sensor and mosfets for power control. I had to update the enclosure to include the new components. This time I had to print 4 prototypes to get to the final version (yellow in picture below)I was happy with

Followed this @adafruit.com tutorial (www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF_P...) to learn how to model to 3d print a snap fit enclosure. This one is to house a Pico W with 3 buttons to interact with it.

Its now back on the kitchen pegboard, but this time with its own 3d printed stand.

Other than blaring an alarm through its (awful) speaker, it shows me the current weather (conditions, temperature, high/low) and sunrise/sunset times.
The background is a section of the wooden Ikea Skadis pegboard. On the pegboard is the same device as described in the previous post of this thread. It is sitting on a yellow 3d printed stand (made of the same materials as the device's enclosure) attached to the pegboard. The stand is slightly wider than the device and about 1/3rd its height. It has walls on either sides and the front is mostly open except for small extension on both sides. This time the contents of the OLED screen are more legible. There are couple of digits on the top separated by a colon. Below it, in slightly bigger font is an icon of cloud with the numbers 46 next to it. Below that there is a set of two numbers, not clearly visible but look like times. Both sets are separated with a / and further below that are again two sets of numbers with times. Next to this stand/device combination, attached on the pegboard is another similar yellow 3d printed stand for an iPhone 14 Pro. So its longer in width than the stand described earlier but similar in height and other characteristics. It is currently empty.

Finally finished this project, going from a janky prototype of a RP2040 Pico W on a breadboard to designing a 3d printed enclosure for it and soldering all the components.

Pretty proud of the outcome, considering its my first electronics/microcontroller (and first "big" 3d printing) project.

On top is a OLED screen, visible through a cutout in the enclosure. The contents of the screen are not clear. There are four black dots on the four corners outside the screen. These are tiny screws. Below this cutout is another oval cutout for a small speaker, and further below that is small circular cutout for a small button. There are 8 more black dots in various spots on the box which are also tiny screws. There is a long shadow casted by the box on the left side.

ffs we have jira and slack (or walk to people’s desks and talk to them). Don’t wait until standup to learn/share about blockers or where you need help. Post on public channels and comment on tickets to let people know what’s up.

The lower half of the background has water body with multiple dolphins jumping out of it in the air. Close to the bottom of the background, underwater there is one dolphin swimming along with lots of small colorful fishes and sea vegetation. The foreground has white text with black borders and small drop shadows. All the text is is upper case. The text is split into two parts, one part at the top of the image and the second at the bottom. First part says “the world if” and second says “we got rid of standups”

Now I have to figure out how to rework this 😭

I was deploying a fastapi app to log my sleep times and drive this janky alarm clock I built using raspberry pi pico (RP 2040)
A circuit assembled on a breadboard with raspberry pi pico w in the center. Multiple wires are connected to the breadboard to connect to one tiny oval speaker and one tiny square display. Didn't get a chance to share thoughts from the last couple of reading sessions, but these highlights about continuous interviewing stood out to me
Highlight from "Continuous Discovery Habits" by Teresa Torres with the logo of Readwise in bottom right corner. Highlight reads: If you need to change course and you’ve stopped interviewing, you’ll have to start from scratch. Your next steps will be delayed until you can ramp up interviewing again. We don’t want to think about interviewing as a step in a linear process. Instead, our goal is to interview continuously. Highlight from "Continuous Discovery Habits" by Teresa Torres with the book cover on the 1/3rd right side. Highlight reads: One advantage of interviewing the same customers month over month is that you get to learn about their context in-depth and see how it changes over time. The risk is that you’ll design your product for a small subset of customers that might not reflect the broader market. You can pair this recruiting method with one or two of the other methods to avoid this fate.
