Even though we are British, I spent a large chunk of my life in the USA. I make pumpkin pie & pecan pie. We enjoy pecan pie at Thanksgiving, which I celebrate with my young family. So we do Pumpkin in October. This weekend we had the pumpkin, a neighbour’s prince Edward’s. It was scrumptious!

A dog who has had a phenomenal day full of exertion and excitement and has dined like a Queen and needed a micro dose of paracetamol to relax pain free in her 13th year. To relax in front of an Aga is Labrador bliss.

I’m always proud of myself when I plan ahead enough to soak a cook beans or lentils for a dish in the immediate future! I’m patting myself on the back this morning because I did just that! Red and black beans for a casserole today and black urad lentils for Makhani on Monday!

Breakfast inspiration from Hannah’s kitchen. Pistachio butter made with a touch a flaky salt, cinnamon and EVOO on top of toasted homemade bread with added chopped pistachios for crunch and chopped fresh cherries for sweet. It really hit the spot!
