California-born Canadian citizen/poet living in northeastern Connecticut…, for now.
Please consider checking out and subscribing to the new online Canadian journal, Traces. Yes, it engages with the "Christian tradition,” but is generous and open. In addition to poetry, Traces features essays, reviews, and interviews. I’m honored to have been published in it: www.tracesjournal.ca

Patriotism on such a 4th demands we both celebrate the Declaration of Independence and publicize our present national distress.

I’ve been developing this little series on Substack titled, “Why Bother?” Its aim: to encourage whomever it may to keep on—in the face of this political moment and any personal distractions—with the good work of making good things happen that contribute to the common, democratic good.

I’m a Canadian-American living in New England and contemplating repatriation. Since birth, I've had Canadian citizenship and now a passport, too. No nation has all its sh*t together, but what tRump’s dishing here is varsity stanky. Current dilemma: when to move? and where? Any thoughts?

Sometimes it’s hard to know what you’re seeing, be it in nature or politics. As the warm, springtime sun melts an iced-over river, we the people are the springtime resistance that will melt an iced-over run at authoritarian government.
