@brett-taylor.bsky.social had some great perspective with @michael-cerami.bsky.social on the BN podcast about how his views on deals may tier towards how this front office group of 12 years has shaped how he processes, while also realizing he himself is risk-averse.

It’s worth a listen!

If I’m not mistaken, there was Skubal interest in the past for the Cubs. Cubs also have a history of trades with th Tigers.

The legal system is one of many “financial Hunger Games” that exist in an economy that isn’t working for 90%+.

I like the idea of it. I think we need to get a special committee to design the program to mitigate self interest, but that would still be challenging in our political climate.

The ripple effect is interesting. If costs could be controlled, we could see a significant decline in runaway verdicts in the medical malpractice space, as settlements are tied to the large increases in cost of care.

However, social inflation continues to be a huge factor.

Also, a physician shortage could put a lot of strain on PC physicians to gate keep. It’s the same reason urgent care facilities have become rampant: trying to spread the overcrowded ER population.

Finally, Americans need to understand AP Nurses can be your healthcare provider.

Curious of the trade offs of employer premiums vs corporate tax to help fund this system. Also, does a single payer system help control costs? Hospitals pain points include unpredictable reimbursement, causing a rise in the expense of those deemed “able” to pay.

It’s the part of the game I hate. He was such a good guy and fun to watch. I will never watching the Cubs closely, as they better deploy these resources to improve the roster. No more savings. More doing.
