What if—hear me out—no one apologizes to Trump ever again? I feel like everyone would be fine with that.

Make sure you understand what this megabill is funding—$100 billion for ICE to build more cages for humans and an additional 10,000 agents to terrorize immigrants across our country. All while adding, by the conservative think tank Cato’s estimate, between $4-6 TRILLION to our national debt.

I love @theguardian.com but in this moment of awfulness, the answer is unequivocally no on this one.

The main sentiment at the protests today was indignation but also the joy of being with community, encouraging one another, raising voices for those who cannot safely join, who are being terrorized with their families and at their places of work. Grateful to all those fighting back.

@theguardian.com has become my go-to because of how much more comprehensive their global coverage is, but also because rather than run the 100th story on tariffs they’re covering the fight for democracy—this is their headline story. Subscribe and support their reporting.

Gratefully resharing one of my favorite Jane Hirshfield poems “Let Them Not Say” from the Academy of American Poets:

“Let them not say: They did nothing. / We did not-enough.”
