And once it's retired to his library, the US taxpayers will still be responsible for its operational and maintenance costs, while Trump has unlimited access to fly around in it whenever and wherever he wants for the rest of his life.

If he can't find a 'cure', which he won't, then probably government mandated sterilization of all the autistic children he's compiling a list of, and their parents/siblings. There are no depths this administration won't sink to.

For those naturalized he can just claim it's fraudulently obtained, revoke citizenship and deport them. For born citizens, he can take anything they said as evidence they joined a foreign military during wartime (ie, joined Hamas because they criticized Israel) and strip them of citizenship.

That's only the case if they can contest it based on being a citizen. That requires due process which is something this administration doesn't believe it needs to provide for those being deported.

The tariffs are the largest ever tax increase specifically targeting lower income people. It's going to devastate living standards in the US, drastically raise poverty and homelessness, and crash the economy harder than the Great Depression. No one wins, except the Ultra Rich.

It does make it worthless as a platform to sell ads in the EU though and denies X the profits from that market. That alone is worth it.

If due process is too cumbersome to do while executing their plan, that means their plan is unrealistic, not due process.
Regardless of where you fall on immigrants, without due process there is nothing to stop them from shipping Americans to foreign prisons without ever having a day in court.

Dems win, remain feckless, lose popularity, GOP gains power, we all march right. Rinse and repeat. Over and over. No matter what things will become more terrible. The only question is will we ever break the cycle to create an alternative or let things get more terrible forever?

Everyone that runs for office or pursues any other kind of public figure role has at least a touch of narcissism. Some way more than others, such as Trump for example. It's full blown in his case.

Elon and Trump lie a lot. It's one of the things they have the most in common. He says whatever it is he thinks people need to hear in order to let him have his way. There is never any sincerity behind it.

Because unless you're considering rounding them up into camps or disenfranchising half of US citizens of their vote, they're going to be swaying elections for the foreseeable future. Like it or not, they're Americans too.

I don't expect any internal consistency from Trump. I do expect some level of it from the Supreme Court though. They're obviously corrupt, and I fully expect them to interpret in Trump's favor whenever possible, but I still expect them to use a rationale, no matter how poor it may be.

It would look bad for Trump if he had to let every undocumented murderer and drug dealer go free back to their own country, which would be required if we ruled that they are not subject to US jurisdiction.

Forever growth is unsustainable anyways and the inevitable catastrophic suffering is greater the longer we wait to adopt a period of shrinking followed by only allowing replacement level growth. Our economic system has to adapt to that one way or another. Delay just makes the transition worse.

It's also a great way to punish companies headed by people that support the opposition or become disloyal to him. Give their competitors tariff exemptions and not them.

It's better for humanity. Less workers means less excess productivity which means less people can exist in bullshit parasite work like financial services, politicians, venture capital, and pretty much anything with an MBA.

Democrats are hollowing out at the bottom of the wealth scale, not the top. If Democrats want to win elections they need to start showing how they will make the Hill and the White House an unwelcoming place for the wealthy and well connected, at least amongst the DNC.
