One thing i noticed that im trying to reconcile: makeup trends in the queer community. This past weekend was the first time i went to a seemingly queer event in brooklyn and i saw 90% of the people bare faced or with an extremely natural glossier beat.

Brooklyn, NYC at the Powerhouse Arts Center. Sojourner's for Justice Press put it together @blackzinefair on ig. This is the second year i went and it was even better than the last!

The black zine fair was lit! Just the balm i needed from dealing with our country's attitudes to black femmes and queer bodies

And all this among the 10$ mil deficit, the new restaurant, the layoffs. Was any of the staff who run the place consulted or was this just an out of touch top down decision?

Went to the #brooklynmuseum's exhibit solid gold - Not enough references to black and brown culture, they felt like footnotes. Not much about bamboo earrings, mr t, bling, or bangles, bc it was centered around the blonds. It felt kind of disjointed from everyday ppl interests and reality
