I was worried about night shift - but the inherent loopy-ness really grew on me
Thank you to all the fantastic scientists and crew who took the time to teach me while aboard the Tully for the Aug/Sep La Perouse! It was a dream first research cruise 🦈🐋🦑

Thank you @hakai.org for hosting me for a talk this week! I had a great time presenting in a yurt, having rewarding chats about carbonate chemistry and habitat viability thresholds, picking huckleberries, and working with an insanely gorgeous view 😍

Led by Cara James with a little help from Claire Parrott and I 🎂- I promise it was much more delicious than the grey icing suggests #IsItCake

Excited (and intimidated) to be part of a panel tonight with
Dr. Cardinal-McTeague and UBC iGEM on making research spaces more welcoming to LGBTQIA2S+ folks (spoiler: I think that increased visibility through webinars like this one are a huge part of the answer)

Winter was a lot more variable – both day to day and between years. South shelf and Columbia River water dominated, but are poorly correlated. Despite weaker inflow in the winter, our findings suggest that winter dynamics are a significant driver of interannual variability. 3/4

Major sources tend to align with the wind direction In the summer, the north shelf was a major source, but unexpectedly, offshore water (including water from the California Current) accounted for the same amount of inflow! 2/4
