The African Union and @ec.europa.eu Summit underscores how essential the partnership between the AU + EU is for advancing the rights and opportunities of Africa’s children and youth. Strong cooperation between both unions remains vital to driving lasting progress.

The meeting with Jozef Sikela and GenUnlimited's Global Leadership Council co-chaired by @unicef.org Catherine Russell, was an opportunity to highlight innovative partnerships with private sector to power youth skills. The EU has a huge role to play in this space through the #GlobalGateway.

Ensuring the safety of unaccompanied and separated migrant children in Europe is urgent. Grateful to Octavio Caraballo Presidencia de Gobierno & Stephane Soriano Gómez for hosting today’s meeting and inviting UNICEF to share our experience protecting children’s best interests with EU Member States.

With 2024 and 25 the deadliest years for humanitarian workers, the world is failing them - and the children who rely on them.

Leaders and parties to conflicts must move from words to action. Let humanitarian workers do their jobs. End impunity for attacks. #WorldHumanitarianDay

This is a man-made disaster.

Enough is enough. The United Nations must be allowed to deliver aid of all types at scale to families in Gaza, wherever they are.

A win for financing for development – and a win for children. This PFA will help governments make their @eib.org loans work more effectively for children by using a cost-effective, predictable and efficient procurement services mechanism.

In these troubling times it's heartening to see @gavi.org secure a record €7.7bn in pledges. Investing in health is essential for children, inc those in crises, but also has huge economic dividends - a message @unicefchief emphasized in meetings with Josef Sikela and @hadjalahbib.bsky.social

Child labour denies children their right to learn, play and simply be children.

Yesterday was World Day Against Child Labour, it’s heartening to share news of a new @ec.europa.eu UNICEF Türkiye and the government of Türkiye partnership aimed at ending child labour in the country.

1 in 5 children aged 2-4 don’t play with caregivers at home. On #DayOfPlay, I joined COFACE EU to highlight why play is serious business.

@unicef.org is working to mainstream play in our programs - and we call on govts and businesses to ensure every child has the right to play.

The #HamburgDeclaration on Responsible #AI for Sustainable Development is adopted. So pleased to formally endorse it on behalf of @UNICEF. Children's best interests must drive the evolution of AI. We want a safe AI that works for all of them – inc the most vulnerable. #HSC2025

The #EHF2025 is always a key event – doubly so this year due to recent aid funding cuts.

As @UNICEFchief stressed, we must work together as a sector and with partners to do all we can to protect children in emergencies - for their rights and for future security and stability.

@unicef.org's Report Card 19 finds that children are less happy with their lives, are more likely to be overweight and are not doing as well in school. Progress in child well-being is increasingly vulnerable to global events and shocks.

If you don’t get your child vaccinated against measles, it can put them at a high risk of this serious infection, which can lead to severe complications or even death.

Make sure your child’s measles vaccination is up to date.
