Wouldn't it be great to have a compact camera with a built in viewfinder and flash at a reasonable price point? After all you can buy a full frame MILC body for not much these days. Ricoh's film GR series was right on target.

#sony #cybershot #rx100 #compact
Used prices on old premium compacts, are just beyond sensible in 2025. As someone who bought an RX100, I can safely say the Mk I isn't a bad camera, but it's not worth this crazy price. Nor anywhere near that. Don't get ripped off

You mean like Heinrich Himmler, because the similarities are very clear.

#sony #reviews #RX1RIII
I gave up on DPReview some time ago, largely felt that they often avoided highlighting issues with reviews, and gave makers an easy time on critique. The Sony RX1R III is a very lazy update, a dated EVF, and no IBIS. Very high price too, no this isn't worth Gold!

Have to admit one of the better ones 😂

A blast from the past, the Konica Minolta 7D DSLR. This 6MP CCD camera features a body packed with controls and dials, something we no longer see on modern cameras (to this degree). Full review coming soon! (they take a while to make!)

Surprised to see OM Systems playing this one, usually it's Fujifilm or Panasonic (other makers have done it too). Delays in the OM-5 Mark II. I really doubt pre-orders were so massive that production couldn't keep up!

May have moved? There was no element of surprise they knew it would be attacked. I suppose the trucks were not full of toys and ice cream?

I sold one of these Fujifilm X-M1 cameras and lens for half this price 10 years ago. It's crazy how old cameras can be so overpriced (some old cameras)
Insane pricing on some products and sites

#dji #drone #flip
I'll be making some videos on the DJI Flip drone shortly, quite a good model with built in prop protectors, I think a good choice for some users. It's nice to see some variation in designs too.

So sad to hear about Gene Hackman and his Wife. What a great actor, truly deserving of that status. He is shown here in the 1974 movie, "The Conversation", a very unique and clever film. RIP Gene

#omen #film #nikon #camera
Watched the first Omen film last night, been a while! Not bad really for it's day. David Warner played the photographer, I believe he was using a Nikon F2? I'm not an expert on Nikon. Looking out for older cameras in more movies. 😀

#lumix #superzoom #camera
One of the earlier cameras I had, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5. For it's day it was alright for a superzoom, whopping 5 megapixels, huge 1.8" LCD (at the time). Had one for a few years before I moved to DSLR land.

Tried out the OM-1 Olympus/OMD camera and 40-150mm F2.8. Nicely made camera and lens, feels solid. Not sure Micro 4/3 is the right fit for me, but I hope to look at some products on the channel later on.

#nikon #z6 #zmount #nikonz
Here's the list of changes from the Nikon Z6 to the Z6 II mirrorless cameras. There are quite a few, so I listed them out and they feature in my Z6 v Z6 II video. Some are useful but minor, the EVF's are quite different despite the same spec.

#minolta #beercan #portrait
Here's a shot from the well love Minolta 70-210mm F4 (beercan), it's not a perfect lens by any means, but it's quite the bargain and has nice rendering at the tele end. Still popular to this day!

I like to keep things really simple.
Real heroes fight back. Claus von Stauffenberg tried to end Hitlers reign, Zelenskyy resisted Putin, Alexei Navalny tried to oppose Putin.
Trump, Putin and Kim Jong Un - I know what Evil looks like.

Hope to have the Sony A700 review done this week, now editing the video. People are still into the older cameras, they're fun to use (despite being dated), and in many cases capable enough. Bonus being the low cost too.

That story begins with once upon a time...it's a fantasy. You treat dictators like a bully, you stand up to them. If you back down they only get worse. USA doesn't negotiate for Ukraine or Europe, ever. He already got slapped down...
MAGA is weak, feeble weak.

#sunset #minolta #photo #photography #ireland
Another go at a silhouette, this time in Dingle bay Ireland. Using an old Minolta 100-200mm, small and discreet. I think I was lucky to have 3 people all at once, and with the central person in that pose. There is a luck element to photography 😃

#micro4/3 #omsystem #retro
Now that the 2 grand price is confirmed for the OM System OM-3 camera, I can't help but think most buyers don't care about a stacked sensor, but they might about the 2.36M dot EVF. Left hand dial could have been ISO too much empty space. Price v Zf seems unrealistic

#rx100 #photography #sony #compact
Here's a shot with the RX100, in Killarney, Ireland, Muckross House. I think B&W works better here for mood. RX100 is a nice little compact, 1" sensor is better then you might think. Body is a bit slippery though!

#sony #photography #lcdmarks
For those having problems with Sony's anti reflective coating coming off, marking and looking ugly on the LCD of their camera. I used normal household polish to gently remove the coating and it looks far better now.

#photography #software #darktable
Trying Darktable again recently, honestly who needs all this complexity and poorly laid out UI?. Tons of options and tiny sliders that almost nobody will ever use, and makes editing images a chore. If only it had a good UI.
What a shame...

#photography #lumix #silhouette
Early silhouette effort! This time with the now ancient Lumix FZ5. I should re-buy this camera to review again, in it's day it wasn't bad for a superzoom type model. But the EVF is poor by modern standards. The spot bottom left is lens flare, I left it in.
