Infinite resources in theory. Thinner squad in practice mind. Doesn’t invalidate your Arsenal opinion mind. Arteta must know that PL and UCL are the only two trophies he will be judged on this season.

It’s grim. Small wins:- the silent generation seem to be less down on black people these days x

Am I right? Is this the only response?
Love you xxx

Because mostly solving problems takes more than one electoral cycle. And to make it worse the public does not want hear this.

I do think much of the lack of growth is attributable to lack of actual understanding of how industry works. From planning to local government reorganisation their primary tool seems to be governance and (de)regulation rather than actual investment (direct or otherwise).

Interesting take that the problem with growing inequality in this country is that it doesn’t start early enough x

I’m sure. But the depth of analysis seemed to be limited to “well he looks like a professional politician and was successful in a B1 job so he must be a competent political leader.” However I’m more interested in how the left learns lessons and identifies a competent leader, as that’s my alignment.
November 16, 2025 at 10:51 PM
Yes Starmer and Corbyn have been objectively terrible, squandering promising positions largely because of their respective leadership limitations. Unfortunately I don’t think members or MPs place competence high on their list of traits when choosing leaders.

How did you know that and why was it that your political beliefs enabled you to judge him on things that are not essentially non-political more clearly than people that had other political beliefs?

They’re going for the “not only should Paddington fuck off, but why hasn’t Mr Gruber gone back to Germany. The war finished years ago” demographic. Not sure they’re persuadable x

There is no chance of a socialist future without a revolution. And there’s no chance of a revolution at the moment either. So may as well try to make things a bit better whilst we wait for the conditions to be more favourable. Which may never even happen. That’s my rather gloomy view of the world x
October 31, 2025 at 7:36 PM
Labour is the party of and for older comfortable public servants these days. They tend to give their offspring a leg up so the struggles facing the majority of young adults are a bit alien x

Well it’s finally on the BBC News app. With videos of Wes Streeting and David Lammy. But, oh, not the actual video of the Reform MP. So casual browsers likely be none the wiser as to how racist the original comments were. Very effective downplaying operation.

Surely the interesting thing about the result is the extent that it deviates from the opinion polls taken in the area?
October 24, 2025 at 8:39 PM
If it’s adjusted for inflation another way to say it would be “Wages maintain their buying power over the last year” I think I’m making a point about priorities. If the aim is to be constantly materially better off that competes with things like fixing the welfare state or fighting climate change x
October 17, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Let’s not then. Because Starmer is bad we should obviously let Farage win xx
October 15, 2025 at 7:45 PM
They don’t have to conceptual overview to accommodate the *at the same time bit* I think Johnson was dubbed the “shopping trolley” for this sort of thing. Only difference is the trolley is moving slower (and I guess Starmer doesn’t see himself as the person pushing it)

Surely the interesting thing about this is no party has more than 50% in any age group. Age not quite the determinant of voting intention that I’d imagined x
