Bought a humidifier. This thing has managed to raise the humidity in my house by about 10% in the less-than-three hours it has been running, all the way on the other side of the house). It feels so much better, too. #soexcite #muchwow

Yesterday, I got caught up on days 1-3 of Advent of Code 2025, Today, I read the puzzle, and...

"Oh, this shit again."

Don't get me wrong, I love me some Advent of Code. But I hate these kinds of tedious puzzles.

You'd've thought I'd've written some tools by now to abstract this, as often as […]

I got a new router to take advantage of my new 1Gbps fiber connection. It only took me a week and a day to get everything sorted out again. Other people look at me like I'm insane, but I call that a win.

#protip: I hate cookie banners. I do not care: I can turn them off at will, regularly, automatically, or even selectively delete them. You do not have to animate them to get my attention. And no, despite what your highly overpaid paranoid lawyers might tell you, there is no law on Earth that […]

That feeling when you find out the guy that sold property to your great grandfather on your dad's side was a distant cousin on your mom's side. I shouldn't be surprised, but it's still cool. #genealogy

Git is great for managing repositories. Until you realize you didn't set up a remote repository and lost it all.

So, I nuked my laptop. Oops. Well, I was looking for an excuse to try Qubes again. Guess I found it.

As much as I like OpenWrt, I hate that they use Anubis on their website. No, I don't want to enable JavaScript.

Note to self: Don't delete blank lines when using ledger-narrow, unless you want to redo your ledger file.

Also note to self: Writing and testing scripts to convert bank files is so much better than doing it by hand, especially when you bork your ledger file by deleting blank lines while in […]

Why, oh why, does a "blank project" at GitLab have a commit and a file I didn't ask for? This is such a pain.

Why, oh why, does Oracle Cloud not let you set a block rule? Le sigh.

Texas may have sued Google and got a payout, but they still lost.

"Google admitted no wrongdoing when agreeing to the settlement." Weak.

"The settlement does not require product changes." Loser.

Having recently migrated 2 nonprofits to Microsoft 365, I'm feeling rather let down by Microsoft's rug-pull. Their nonprofit website still says, at the very moment, that Microsoft is granting up to 10 free licenses to Business Premium. But the four emails I received says it is being discontinued.
