Framing the Ottoman history as a "tolerant Muslim empire" during an "age of coexistence" has done more harm than good. By focusing on Western colonialism and ignoring Ottoman expansionism, Ottomanism and neo-Ottomanism remain unchallenged. It’s time to critically reassess these historical narratives
