I'd tell you about me, but then you'd know who I am.

When and where did I say that? Youre twisting my words to hear whatever point you want to hear. I'm trans so Im right there with you, worried about my meds too and idk why you keep treating me as if Im the enemy, but Im done engaging with someone set on misunderstanding and twisting my words. ✌️

I started by asking if you dont support the Dems then who will you support?

I also pointed out that it was a politically "safe" move for them bc by time the next election rolls out in 2 years everyone not affected will have forgotten this vote.

I hope Joe Veteos it. That's our hope right now

That was never the question asked me, but also blue sky isnt going have policy laid out that fixes everything on a thread.

I think the first thing is get more gay people in business. I think we have more run for office. I think we make our queer communities more robust and vibrant. Starting points

You can vote for whomever you want.

I never signed up to convince you one way or the other.

& I don't vote as a monolith w/ any community. I vote for the best candidates available in the elections Im eligible to vote in. I'm not a registered Dem, but by & large they often align closer than GOP.

I think that's much more effective in some regions than in others and I think that's a key aspect people are missing. Why do you think so much of the new admin is from Florida?

The South plays by its own rules and the rest of the country is to busy making memes out of us to realize the situation.

How?

Healthcare is a part of being LGBTQ+, but it is also a matter for all humans.

I can be concerned about aspects that aren't directly related to LGBTQ policy, as well as LGBTQ issues.

My point is as a citizen, I care about more than the fact I'm queer.

I don't live a "single issue" life.

Ive gone in person and speak, multiple times, didn't move anyone an inch. Ive called dozens of times and never got the Congress person, always their staff. Emails get stock replies.

If you dont have $$$ to give a politician, most wont have any effs to give you. 🤷‍♀️ That's the reality, not idealism.
December 12, 2024 at 2:22 AM
Well for 1 thing, LGBTQ+ issues aren't the only issues out there that matter. My lifes impacted in more ways than who I am married to or how I identify. For ex. healthcare matters to me. Infrastructure. Foreign and Domestic policy. Immigration. Women's Rights....I'm more than just a queer person.

Ok, bc no one was calling or sounding the alarms before the vote on this bill passed?

That's too much "School House Rock" thinking and not enough Cspan, bc that idealism got sold out with the Citizen's United decision. They don't answer their phones or it's just an aid that takes the notes. 🤷‍♀️
December 12, 2024 at 2:15 AM
And they know we will either vote for them or stay home next election cycle no matter how they vote on this bill. They lose nothing bc by the time midterms come around there will be 81919194953920201 other fires to be worried about.

We are math, not people to the DNC leadership.
December 12, 2024 at 2:09 AM
We certainly can call all we want. It won't make a difference unless there's a way to put our $ in the game, most Dems literally do not care. Our lived experiences is just another campaign topic to them. They will bend whichever way the money flows. They know we can't go anywhere else 🤷‍♀️
December 12, 2024 at 2:07 AM
OK, so what's your plan? If it isn't continuing to work with the Dems, then what is it? We all move to the Green Party?

What actual plan is there?

Bc we have a binary system in the US and the GOP sure as hell won't be on the LGBTQ+ side soooooo 🤷‍♀️...
