Tonight we played a game from Deadbolt Mystery Society & it was a very special one we were able to personalize the detective's name on, so of course we picked our sweet pug. ☺️ She has been gone for four years now, & it still hurts, but it's also nice to remember her with silly things like this!💜

Today is the 4th anniversary of when we said goodbye to our 16 year old pug, Paxton Rhubarb. I still miss her every single day, but her memory brings more smiles than tears now. She was a good sport and put up with my antics (anything for a treat!)

Putting my Dad to his final rest and wearing the boots he got me for Christmas in 1990. I was 16 and they were a delight to him, a nuisance to my Mom and made me feel like a bad ass. He would approve, though tsk-tsk that they weren't freshly polished. 💜

My Dad's next journey started shortly after starting hospice. Hindsight tells us that he was "ready," even if we were not.
It will take us a while to learn how to navigate this world with only our memories of him; missing his jokes, his spirit, his endlessly positive attitude and his curiosity. 💜

Yesterday we started in-home hospice care for my father, who has many ailments, but primarily bladder cancer. If you have experienced something similar and have advice, I would be grateful to read it.
