I worry it wouldn't even matter. He was right when he said he could shoot someone in the middle of the street and his approval wouldn't go down. If anything it'd go up depending on who he shot.

I'm already seeing claims of 4K 60 FPS performance using FSR. I would be amazed if that's true on anything modern without looking terrible from the upscaler.

I understand this isn't meant to be a high end device and I assume the price will be reasonable but considering this will be played on a monitor or TV I don't know if 900-1080p will look that great even using FSR or another upscaler.

There's also a lot less (if any) pressure on Playstation to try to release a console to directly compete with Xbox as their strategies go in significantly different directions. The days of the traditional console generations are likely over.

The minimal 1st party output this generation (seemingly due to COVID and their failed live service push) could also extend the gen as more PS5 games finish up. That also could turn into PS5 games being made into PS6 exclusives like they seemingly did this current generation.

I'm curious how this story gets covered because much like Nintendo a lot of the podcasts, influencers and legacy outfits almost seem scared to criticize them in fear of losing "access". I suppose that's the gift of being a nobody with no worries about that. lol

100% agreed. Every year I hope that Summer Game Fest and Gamescom ONL will be worth watching and they never are. The Game Awards are often decent but also seem to be getting worse. At best you might get 1 or two cool trailers at each end with 2 hours of filler in the middle. I weirdly miss E3.
