A paywall during a potential emergency?

Not Aden. I forgot the other candidate’s name but he was endorsed.

A replacement delegate will be assigned from the list of alternate delegates who signed up at your precinct caucus. You can’t select your own alternate. Just a heads up.

Your mother was an amazing woman. My son was in her class at Barton, and she is very much missed. She even gave him her old rollerblades. I’m sorry you’re going through additional pain now, but I’m glad you were able to let the world see the obit you wrote even if the star trib won’t publish it.

Yes. I assume he wanted to try for Koski’s home turf. I was surprised as well.

Other precincts in Ward 11 might have been busier. Ours is a particularly quiet neighborhood. The building was definitely busy.

11-11 we didn’t even ask who people were caucusing for because it was such a small group that everyone who wanted to be a city delegate or alternate was able to be. Appearances by Koski, Davis, and Frey for mayor and both council candidates.

Thank you, Tina. Please convince your colleagues to vote no also!

Can you tell me where I can get more information about the rapid response volunteering. What’s required of the volunteers, training, etc. Thanks!

I do. His good trouble is sorely missed right about now.

We definitely agree about most issues. Leaving a building unprotected by quitting doesn’t help either though. The guard is in a bad situation and that’s pretty unfair to him. I didn’t mean you disparaged, but the internet in general. The guy is the lowest on the totem pole now in the spotlight.
February 7, 2025 at 3:14 AM
To clarify - if Elon Musk showed up at the door without proper clearance and the guard did anything other than keep him out, that would be wrong. If he showed up with clearance and the guard decided to make a stand and stop him, how would quitting help? He’d literally just leave the site unprotected

I wouldn’t expect someone to give up their job for a photo op by a senator who literally authorizes the funding that pays for the guard. The guard being there was not a surprise to the senator. The senator being there was a surprise for the guard. The guard did what the protective service does.
February 7, 2025 at 3:05 AM
The position is. Not the person. I have no doubt given the opportunity many guards would side with Trump. But unless we have specific knowledge that this specific guard let in someone who didn’t have access granted, then there’s no need to disparage the individual.
February 7, 2025 at 3:03 AM
And I’m all for good trouble. John Lewis would be proud. However, the senator knows that these guards have been protecting these buildings and following access rules under all administrations for a long time. Expecting anything other than being stopped at the door would be crazy.
February 7, 2025 at 3:01 AM
If he had allowed in people who don’t have access to the building, he would have been fired. For a photo op by a senator. I’m totally on your side when it comes to right and wrong of the various people in power. However, this guard shouldn’t suffer because of it. He’s non-partisan building security
February 7, 2025 at 2:59 AM
I agree if the guard is able to know the intentions of each people entering a federal building. But they can’t. If someone has a federal access card for that building, the guard doesn’t know their job, political affiliation, etc. Whoever issued the minions access is responsible for this.
February 7, 2025 at 2:55 AM
Oh i absolutely agree. Im only defending the guard who doesn’t get to do more than check access permissions and act based on that. If they have been granted access, there’s literally nothing the guard could do. I’m glad the senator tried this. Blame Trump and musk not the guard is all I’m saying.
