Watching LL this weekend sadly confirmed what I was already thinking, LL just isn’t ready to be a competitive format, these games feel super unbalanced, and whilst there is skill expression in turn sequence mechanics, “Did I draw the nuts?” Should not be the game determinative factor.

It’s actually unbelievable how LSS can design a hero as Cool as RKO in such in way that it’s actually unplayable.
I think we’re going to need like 3 expansion slots just to make the deck work.
I hope someone in Japan figured this deck out because it has been infuriating to play.

It’s actually unbelievable how LSS can design a hero as Cool as RKO in such in way that it’s actually unplayable.
I think we’re going to need like 3 expansion slots just to make the deck work.

Playing RKO feels like doing cold fusion to make a boiled hot dog, it really feels rewarding when I win my games but I wonder if it was really worth the effort to win them.

Early testing is getting me a bit nervous about SS Meta. These new guardians are doing some some really not fun things very easily. Lyath might as well not have the halving line of text considering how well he circumvents it. If you’ve got any advice on how to play into this I’m all ears!

I’m still super hyped for super slam but I gotta ask, based on the available card pool and spoilers, is RKO just unplayable? It really feels like the deck on a fundamental level does not work. Some real Olympia/Betsy vibes.

So TCG design has been challenging but extremely rewarding! There are days where I wake up more motivated than others but I’m always thinking about ways to improve the game almost every day. I’m excited to show where I’m at in the next month or so!

Seen a lot of new creators on here so thought I’d also put myself as one. I’m currently in the process of designing a TCG with a little twist. My hope is to catalogue the process on YouTube, in a sort of public devlog! I’m so excited to share what I’ve been cooking!

With arcane coming to a close this weekend, my next vote… let’s take another crack at The Harrowing/Sentinels of Light. Arcane proved that people will watch deep lore if you give it the proper format, writing, and time. I mean it can’t be worse than the client VN they gave us.
