I want oil prices to go down
December 30, 2025 at 2:06 AM
Rory surely with a supply glut at the beginning stages of an S shaped adoption curve for EVs, the oil market is now in permanent bear territory? Demand destruction will start to bite

8% a little disappointing… was hoping for 20%
December 9, 2025 at 12:02 PM
That may have been true pre circa 2017/2018 when renewables were more expensive than fossil fuels. That has changed. Now there is no downside in decarbonising
December 6, 2025 at 10:38 PM
So you would constrain housing supply due to the risk of corruption, rather than seek to address that problem in some other way? Seems pretty strange way to approach the problem
December 1, 2025 at 2:16 AM
Ok I’ve read it. With respect, long, waffling, and very ambiguous about what you are actually proposing to solve the absurd crisis that planning system has created. And largely a defence of the status quo/treatise against change. The corruption concerns are fair in NSW, but we have icac for this
November 26, 2025 at 8:07 PM
Phillip the existing planning rules have delivered us the most unaffordable housing markets on planet earth. To advocate for the status quo at this point is insanely negligent and selfish

More housing is good imo

This is new vehicle registrations I take it, not total

Do you discuss the impact of demand destruction from EV adoption in these weekly notes?
August 17, 2025 at 1:04 AM
With ever rising EV adoption the oil market is surely in a permanent structural decline

86 people were arrested for holding identical signs?
July 15, 2025 at 9:09 AM
It’s also India
July 15, 2025 at 9:08 AM
It’s basic economics now not ideology so it’s unstoppable
June 19, 2025 at 10:41 PM
Now do Australia
June 9, 2025 at 9:42 AM
Australians have had reverse cycle air conditioners for like 40 years… they’re everywhere.
June 4, 2025 at 9:14 PM
And China is reaching its emissions reductions targets ahead of time too. Big players making big progress
May 26, 2025 at 12:03 AM
Add Australia to this
March 17, 2025 at 10:14 AM
We’ve used them in Australia for at least 50 to 60 years…
