"Tag, you're it!” To help better understand the migratory patterns of forest-dwelling bats, the BCI Team took to the California Redwoods to track hoary and silver-haired bats. Knowing the movements of these species will help us better understand the threats they face. Fly safe, friends!

"Maaahhhmm!” Common vampire bats (𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘴 𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘴) form close familial bonds, especially mothers and pups. Here, a pup calls out for its mom who then returns (perhaps from an evening of hunting).

Sorry, humans. As far as vampire bats go: they're just not that into you!

Vampire bats feed exclusively on blood of wild mammals such as tapirs, and common livestock like cows and horses.
This hairy-legged vampire bat said you seem really nice, but you're just not his type.
