No, this is not a real town but the Zuiderzeemuseum in Enkhuizen, in Holland, where a town around 1900 is recreated from houses from villages around the former Zuiderzee, now the IJsselmeer.

“Castle #Wedde”, in #Groningen, near the German border. A medieval stronghouse, now a hotel for children in need. Bishop van Galen made his headquarters here for a while.

Oh, great, taking a picture of a painting in a museum behind glass. This is Bernhard Johan Prott, defender of Bourtange in 1672 against the evil Munster Bishop van Galen. Died in Lutjegast, you know, where Abel Tasman came from, the guy that discovered Tasmania.
