I tried a number of things to get the subject soft. But they all simply looked like bad photos. The one I think worked best was this, where I put everything in focus except the subject. To soften its edges.

Since setting my camera to shoot jpg I’ve been struggling to find new things to take a photo of daily. Today I stumbled across 365picturetoday dot com, which will hopefully help inspire me to look for things.

I need a longer lens. This is a FF 200mm equivalent, quite cropped.
My shots in past years were with a FF 600mm equivalent. Getting closer with analogue zoom made it much easier to get right and capture details.
In-camera handheld image stacking attempts failed.

These are some flowers from the main bouquet at my mother’s funeral just over a week ago. I was amazed at how beautiful some of them looked even as they died. I’m glad I didn’t throw it out prematurely.
