Two, future card design becomes affected by this. For better or for worse, it can potentially homogenize deck building. (This is more speculative).
If we get more cards like Ulalek and Reaper King that are powerful, they can appear in any deck regardless of color.

The issue then becomes "what decks can play Redcap if they change the color identity rules for hybrid mana?"
Redcap could go in Mikaeus the Unhallowed and become an instant win with a sac outlet.
