at the end of the day i think this "all or nothing" approach to media is just bad media literacy, plain and simple. its always gonna be complicated. it shouldnt be that we either allow everything no matter how depraved or censor everything we dont personally like

agree, and it goes both ways, too. depiction doesnt automatically mean endorsement and i dont agree with censorship.. but its also dumb to think that you cant criticize a story that glorifies abuse. AND i dont think every "problematic" thing is on the same level! and thats not even getting into kink

i also dont find it fair to align myself with either because i dont fully agree with either side's beliefs and morals and both sides seem to see that as agreeing with the side They Dont Like. its silly! morality in media is such an interesting topic that's been butchered by dumb ship discourse!

on the other hand i really dont like antis even though i align more with their beliefs because the community tends to be overzealous and full of complete assholes!
both terms have totally lost their meaning over the years and i dont feel comfortable aligning myself with either...

i post a lot about my dislike of proshippers specifically because of my own experiences with them. in reality, i really dont GAF, because its 1. more complicated than that and 2. very easy for me to just block you and pretend you never existed.
