Bashing on regardless

I have a to-do list longer than a queue for a beachside bog on Boxing Day, but somehow I can find time for subjecting complete strangers to unsatisfyingly moderate opinions, lame jokes & nitpicks.
I did my back in for several painful weeks as a result bending over slightly but a bit awkwardly to tie a shoelace. I regularly did deadlifts in excess of 100 kg without feeling it, but tying a shoelace caused the most physically painful experience I've ever had.

Maggie had little valid reason to be pissed off, as Grenada ceased to be a UK territory in 1974. Pakistan's a Cwlth member, but Obama had no obligation to consult Cameron re the bin Laden assassination.

The lack of consultation with the Queen of Grenada was what he should have apologised for.

India's president is Droupadi Murmu, not Narendra Modi.

Trump: misuses the term 'battleship' as a synonym of 'warship' because he doesn't know anything about the subject he's talking about.

WSJ: 'The "battleship" name harks back to the ships with large main guns.'

You do know we can SEE Trump's errors you keep concocting lame excuses for, right?

My plainclothed takes aren't up to much either, but I've bollocks to spout & spout it I shall, whatever its attire.

It's Eric Prydz's 'Call On Me.' That's the right answer.

Terrible music though.

Good to see that BBC News is working hard to restore its reputation as a serious news organisation.

I'm fascinated by the claim that the nation he leads has been destroyed & destroyed by a mere 100 000 or so immigrants in a population of 340 000 000. It puts his flag shagging racist cult in a bit of a bind.

Tempting, but I can afford only one Christmas holiday & I already made my choice.

I don't think I've seen a decent documentary that was made in the 21st century. They all seem to be written by children, for children, & full of mistakes about very basic facts of the subject matter, talking heads who witter on about what they imagine rather than what they know, & general sloppiness

My dear fellow, that is not a rum cove, that is a bad egg, possibly even a bounder.

Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words -
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Charlie Brown -
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red

What I Iike about Mila Jovovic is that she's famous solely for appearing in schlock (&, yes, I include T5E in that category) while still being classy.
Her & Christopher Lee: 🤜🤛.

Late gen X'er here. Can anyone tell me exactly when nostalgia & antiquarian value began applying to CRT TVs? I ask because to me these are just regular, contemporary appliances, not dated junk. Mine still work - why would I throw them away?

I just want to know when I officially became An Old Man.

Not odd for a critic to have never seen it. Not enough hours in the day to see many once-popular shows. It was just one of a gajillion dumb, hammy sitcoms the US churns out. It was popular but didn't stand out in any other way that could make it still relevant. (I saw part of ep 1 & said 'no.')

Cor, what a lovely set of jugs.

The obvious retort is that, according to Heath, the UK has a 100% chance of having already collapsed completely, multiple times. Even *his* readers should be able to spot that.

Interesting that his figure includes Britons who don't fit his herrenvolk ideal.

This is also interesting:
"...the ONS now thinks that 257,000 British nationals left the UK in 2024 while 143,000 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥."
www.bbc.com/news/article...
UK net migration 20% lower in 2024 than first thought, ONS says
The main reason for the change is that more UK nationals are thought to have emigrated in 2024 than initially recorded.
