More than a gallery experience; BasementArtsProject is about becoming part of a family, a real one that resides in and around a permanent art space.

Too art for community too community for art.
Yes, it is that time of an exhibition again when we turn our attention to the closing event: our Lunchtime Conversation with the incumbent artist. So, if you want to get the 4-1-1 on this thought provoking exhibition then book your ticket using the link

October’s Editions of Hypogeal over on Substack constituted something of an break from the usual format.

I came across a piece of writing from earlier in the year in which I was musing on the offerings of AI. And so an experiment was born. With a series of prompts I got AI to rewrite my thoughts

दर्शन was the first non-English title that we have used at BasementArtsProject and, just like buses, two come along at once.

The next exhibition is drawn from the Welsh language. Tirweddau Dychmugol-Faesiol is an exhibition by Leeds based studio holder at Serf Seren Oakley

We hope you can join us…

As artists and as a community we are at war on all fronts against the forces that seek to destroy our lives rather than make them better

After 3 years of ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ bringing peace and quiet to the land, a late opening cheap booze licence has seen the land inundated with their mess

The negotiations with the land bankers continue.

Trying to get companies involved in things that help and improve communities rather than make money out of them is nigh on impossible but we persist…

BasementArtsProject has been running for 14years here in South Leeds. We have achieved a lot on very little, and predominantly from our own pockets and the artists that have elected to work with us.
But… we are currently running on fumes.
We are looking for sponsors.
