This basically just says they weighted the results based on census data. It doesn't say what the actual samples were. They could be weighting the like 5 young people they could get and saying it's representative of the 18-25 block because they weighted with census data.

I mean for one, this was hardly random. For two, this is a CBS poll, likely using cold calling as it's main way of gathering data.

Cold calling for polls is incredibly outdated and probably mostly skews towards the sentiments of boomers. No one under the age of like 40-45 is doing them.
