If you're not having fun, then it's not worth it.

Love to discuss video games, media, amongst other things.
Kotick is a bastard, but he's a bastard that sells at the tippity-top.

It's only downhill from here imo.

This is Arsenal it should be red cards not yellow.

They later went on to be bought by Nintendo!

Amazing story tbh.

May be a good idea to take down and reupload this one.
April 16, 2025 at 1:39 PM
It's gonna be Take2 with GTA6.

They're the guys who went first with $70 games, too. Before Activision and Sony.

I have a feeling that this will be a bumpy launch for Nintendo.

This isn't 2018 anymore. People have multiple handheld options (including Switch 1!), plus other players are getting into handhelds, too.

You also don't have an entire gen's worth of great Wii U exclusives to re-release at will.

It had a multiplayer coop focus early in development before getting retooled.

Thanks, that was very informative!
February 8, 2025 at 11:31 PM
And you have good reason for it!

+15 hours, and they gave people zero assurances and zero understanding of the situation at hand.

I am so glad that I used a clean email + password for my PSN account.
February 8, 2025 at 5:26 PM
I mean a 15 hour outage of service with no communication is bad even if the drives didn't need to be paired.

Sony really has lost a lot of consumer trust in recent years, especially when it comes to infosec.
February 8, 2025 at 5:03 PM
The lack of communication has been honestly bad.

At least give updates on whether you found the problem, how long it will take to fix etc etc.
February 8, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Generally, anything attached to an online service has a theoretical end of service.

It's the price we all paid for convenience and lack of physical constraints on sales of games. It is what it is imo.
February 8, 2025 at 4:53 PM
It's entirely possible, of course.
February 8, 2025 at 4:52 PM
I'm talking about the original post on Twitter. People are taking it to mean that a paired drive would not work offline, which is false.

No clue why you're trying to be antagonistic here.

Also, a screen name is a screen name. There's nothing deep about it.
February 8, 2025 at 4:51 PM
This is what happens when your PR strategy becomes completely non-existent and you only communicate with your audience to sell them things.

Trust breaks down, and users get used to finding out things for themselves via speculation instead of you reaching out in a timely manner.
February 8, 2025 at 2:50 PM
That's not the point the original post was trying to make, though. He was trying to make it look like an already paired drive stopped working, which is plain false.

My guess is they did this so you don't use an aftermarket disc drive and use it to circumvent their encryption or something.
February 8, 2025 at 2:43 PM
It's honestly crazy how lies propagate so much faster now.

I'm not sure why Sony mandated this, but my guess is it's so you can't take a different drive or writer off Aliexpress or something and attach it.
February 8, 2025 at 2:42 PM
The drive is not bricked, the guy is trying to do the initial pairing when there's an outage happening.

I know this because I went through this exact pairing process when I installed my disc drive.
February 8, 2025 at 2:26 PM
Isn't it already a power-hungry card though?
January 29, 2025 at 2:41 PM
It basically told him where his ceiling is at SIE.

I think he's gone within a year or two, tops.
January 29, 2025 at 9:24 AM
Because this is Totoki talking about the role of Sony CEO, which Jim Ryan thankfully never held.
January 29, 2025 at 9:23 AM
The warp points or lack of thereof is my biggest issue with the game so far.

Even with that tho, it's honestly far better than most of the Ubi stuff in recent years.
January 29, 2025 at 9:21 AM
Valve can make their SteamOS devices more mainstream, but it would require untold amounts of investment (subsidies + managing broad distribution) + changing their entire internal make-up, and success isn't guaranteed if they do.
January 28, 2025 at 11:16 AM
I think it's more expensive than most people think. It has a lot of AAA trappings: licensed soundtrack, over 7 voiced languages, etc.

People just think of it as small because Microsoft didn't promote it (Twice!).
January 26, 2025 at 9:44 PM
Zenimax was not listed publicly, so only Phil Spencer got fleeced.

Victimless crime imo.
