4. Go to pupillage events and the open nights hosted by the sets you are interested in. Write down key words that resonate with you use them in your apps and interviews. (4/5)

3. Know what’s going on in the legal world. Make an excel + track the big things - changes in law, problematic legislation and decisions. Sign up to the Witness newsletter, sign up to @innertemplelibrary.bsky.social’s daily newsletter, have Google alerts, watch the news. (3/5)

2. Ask for help and accept help. Get a mentor from you Inn and use your Bar provider’s career services. Without my mentor I would not have gotten pupillage. You need help and you need insight from people at the Bar to give you an edge. (2/5)
