2 years ago today, I hiked to the Litli Hrutur volcano until I was 40m from the crater, crossed the rift zone and ended up on this hill for a night in awe. This was eruption #3 on Reykjanes peninsula since March 19th of 2021. Today eruption #12 is still ongoing #eruption #reykjanes #iceland #volcano
