Love that! I had never read it until I "had" to teach it one year to 12th graders--they called it "life-changing" and I totally agree.

Me too! Just wanted to see what would happen--we found a certain liberation when we removed the audience and external motivators.

Yes! It's also liberating to know that no one will ever read it. It was also a good reminder to students how much an audience impacts their writing.

Initial thoughts: one needs to spend more time with "difficult" poetry, AI poetry, while more accessible, lacks an authentic emotional core based on a lived life. AI can't achieve a level of complexity and/or subtlety without perceived intention.Our discussion morphed into what's the essence of art
