Unfortunately the words on the right side ("into action") got cut off.

After I tapped my card at the drs it asked me to verify the transaction. I pushed the "OK" box on the screen several times, nothing. I tried the white bar below it, still nothing. The woman explained it was the green button in the bottom right - not intuitive (and what's the little touchpad for?)

Sure, the last one is a bit of a curveball but that doesn't make it any less valid.

Yep, sometimes all you really need is a glass.

@arungupta.bsky.social 's, Fostering Open Source Culture recently came out. The book is made up of a variety of topics, each covered in 2 sections-Arun provides the 1st half & the 2nd half is composed of supporting case studies. Im psyched to have been able to contribute 2 of the case studies :)

At the end of the year, my son & I went to see Goose. Neither of us had heard of them, but they sounded intriguing, described as a jam band with trance/funk influences. It was awesome. At points they reminded me of My Morning Jacket, War, the Band, Pink Floyd, the Dead. They played for 3+ hrs.

This is one of the cooler thumb drives Ive received at a conference. The little critter is a xerus as in "Xenial Xerus" the code name for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Xenial is an adjective meaning "welcoming in nature" and Xerus is a type of African ground squirrel. --Any guesses on the capacity of the drive?

The other day I had the opportunity to use a "visible"pump. Anyone know about the layout/components of these boards? (according to chat GPT, they were made by Wayne Fueling Systems, which began life in 1891 as the "Wayne oil tank & pump Company" In Wayne, Indiana) #embeddedsystemdesign

I keep this in my wallet to remind myself that those who don't pay attention do not survive (I don't actually keep this in my wallet, but next time I'm being interviewed I'll make sure it's there so that I can dramatically pull it out and say, do you know why I have this?)

I like the way the entire right half of the curve lays out the increasingly dangerous effects of stress. Toxic stress is more than a corner case that you find at the far right of the curve.

#Usability fail #72- went to wash my hands at an event, couldn't figure it out. called my girlfriend in. we both flailed until she finally cracked the code. Bauhaus ethos = form follows function. Id add "said function must also be intuitive" (never did figure out how to make it hotter or colder)

One of my favorite things about living in Austin is Barton springs (no relation). It's a great place to go and swim when it's hot and swim and people watch. The other day I I was hanging out and decided to take pictures of people jumping off the diving board. Here are a few of them..

Just got back from #kubecon in Salt lake City. What a great conference! Over 9K people (~ 50% first-timers). I went as press thanks to my new project, 808media (note: press pass = much better coffee) Met a lot of great people & got some pretty cool interviews -- watch this space...
